Staff CEO Support Fund - Sharon Taita
In light of the pandemic, Wayne Devy, Nazareth Care Africa CEO, initiated the CEO Staff Support Fund with the mission to continue funding our non-essential staff who have been temporarily laid-off as well as any staff particularly struggling financially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We reached out to all staff at Nazareth Houses across the region and received a few applications for financial assistance. Meet Sharon Taita who is also an employee at Nazareth House Port Elizabeth. Sharon tragically lost her partner of 10 years, suddenly, in June 2020. She has since been a single parent.
Her partner was still young when he past away as he succumbed to an unexpected cerebrovascular attack. He was the father of Sharon’s 3 young children of who are 8 years old, 4 years old and 2 years old.
Sharon was stunned by this tragic event, leaving her very emotional. She is now the sole supporter of her young family.
Sharon has worked for Nazareth House Port Elizabeth since 2014 and has been a joy with all our residents.
Nazareth has committed to helping Sharon with necessities to assist in caring for her young children, as well as a food voucher to help with her monthly grocery bill.
We thank all our staff for their commitment and dedication during this trying time. And we hank you for all the support and donations received enabling us to further support our staff when they need it most.
