Nazareth Care Africa joins forces with The Diamond Works Institute to help those in need.
Nazareth Care Africa is best known for its aged care homes throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe, offering a high level of care focusing on quality of life and person-centred care. This legacy was started more than 135 years ago in Africa, with a mission to care for the indigent and most vulnerable, a still very alive mission today.
Initiated by the Sisters of Nazareth and its’ founder Victoire Larmenier, Nazareth House is a registered Non-Profit Organisation and Public Benefit Organisation that provides love, care, and hope daily to the residents in their care. This is done via their ministry work, outreaches, welfare homes, and two Child and Youth Care Centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town, caring for abandoned, abused, and severely disabled children.
Nazareth Care is structured on a business model where its’ for-profit Nazareth Houses share monies with the welfare Nazareth Houses, outreach programs, Child and Youth Care Centres, and further ministry work. The organisation incurs operating expenses, which are far higher than the revenues generated through the ‘Board and Lodging’ fees and ‘Government Grants’ received. This is due to the subsidisation of child and elderly care, outreach projects, and community work. This business model is wholly reliant on continued fundraising and donation activities in an effort for Nazareth Care to continue its’ mission. It is crucial for Nazareth Care to look for new and innovative ways for funding while still maintaining traditional funding methods. Nazareth Care has branched out to new fundraising forms, and the Diamond Works Institute answered a recent prayer.
The Diamond Works Institute offers a truly unique diamond and jewellery experience extending its expertise to specialty gems, and fine jewellery manufacturing design. Being an expert in South Africa they pride themselves on excellent quality, internationally-certified gemstones, and 100% conflict-free sourcing, thus ensuring each bespoke piece is produced with consciousness.
The Diamond Works Institute vision for partnering with Nazareth Care is to create bespoke signature jewellery pieces highlighting the core values of Nazareth Care; Love, Justice, Hospitality, Respect, Compassion, and Patience and raising awareness for the Mission of caring and protecting the vulnerable. Their enthusiasm and warmth in matching their best jewellery pieces to the Nazareth Care vision for this initiative was truly captivating, embracing what the organisation encompasses.
The Diamond Works Institute has agreed to gift Nazareth Care with eight bespoke pieces of jewellery over the coming year in the hopes of raising a total of One Million Rand via their fundraising campaigns. The funds raised will be allocated to the facilities which need the most financial support. This includes Nazareth Houses in Yeoville, Johannesburg and Elsies Rivier in Cape Town; the Child and Youth Care Centres in Yeoville, Johannesburg and Vredehoek Cape Town; the Frances Shannon Hospice and self help centre in Warrenton and Morning Star Creche at Fourteen Streams near, Kimberly; and the many outreach projects initiated by the Sisters of Nazareth across the country. The lives a donation such as this can touch and change for the better are countless.
The first of these signature gifts is a Green Tourmaline and Black Spinel Pendant with matching Spinel Bead Necklace valued at R18 000.00. Green Tourmaline, also known as Verdelite, is perhaps Nature’s best healing crystal of the physical heart, channeling its electrical energies into the center of one’s being and creating a flow of wholesome energy to all parts of the body and self.
To win this beautiful piece of jewellery, business and individuals alike are invited to join the Nazareth Care 20K Campaign. The 20K Campaign is part of Nazareth Care’s fundraising efforts and is a challenge to get 20 000 individuals to sign up and donate on either a monthly or annual recurring basis to Nazareth Care, committing their belief to the work done through Nazareth House and its ministries. The financial goal for the 20K Campaign is to raise R1 000 000.00 or more per month recurring, ensuring the organisation ultimate sustainability. For the Diamond Works Institute partnership, potential donors are requested to make annual recurring donation of R10 000.00 or more, or a monthly recurring donation of R850.00 or more, to be eligible.
