Board Member Responsibilities

As a member of the Nazareth Care Africa Board, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the organisation towards its goals. Responsibilities include:

1. Interpret and Promote:
Interpret the organisation’s work and values to its beneficiaries and the community while actively promoting our mission.

2. Governance and Best Practice:
Actively participate in and out of Board meetings to ensure the organisation adheres to best practices and upholds good corporate governance in all areas.

3. Strategic Vision:
Understand and contribute to the strategic view and vision of the organisation, ensuring its long-term sustainability.

4. Regional Support:
Participate in and support the regional structures to ensure compliance, transparency, and the overall success of the organisation.

5. Meeting Attendance:
Attend at least 75% of Board meetings, potential committee meetings, and special events.

6. Committee Participation:
Actively participate in one or more standing committees that align with your expertise and interests.

7. Conflict Resolution:
Act in the best interest of the organisation and excuse yourself from discussions and votes where you believe there is a conflict of interest.

8. Fiduciary Responsibility:
Take seriously the major legal responsibilities of serving on a Board, especially the fiduciary role.

9. Stay Informed:
tay informed about what is going on within the organisation, its challenges, and opportunities.

10. Decision-Making:
Participate in and take responsibility for making informed decisions on issues, policies, and other Board matters.

Qualifications

We are seeking individuals with a passion for our mission, diverse skills, and a commitment to elderly care. Candidates should possess relevant experience in areas such as governance, healthcare, finance, legal, fundraising, or marketing.
