About our Child
and Youth Care Centres
Nazareth Care has two children’s homes in Southern Africa which are registered as Child and Youth Care Centres (CYCC) with the Department of Social Development. Situated at the Nazareth Houses in Cape Town and Johannesburg, these facilities aim to provide a loving, stable and secure home environment for the children in our care.
Children residing at the Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) are under the legal care and guardianship of the home as many are the victims of poverty, neglect, abandonment and abuse. Each child has unique requirements due to their circumstance which can include anything from being orphaned or abandoned to being born HIV positive or disabled at birth.
We focus on providing valuable psychological, spiritual, emotional and educational support but most importantly, the children in our care receive boundless love and compassion – vital things that many of them have received far too little of in their short lives.
Too many children start life at a disadvantage due to circumstances beyond their control; this should not be a deciding factor of whom they become. Our Children Homes care for kids aged 0 to 18 with the numerous conditions including; Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Spina Bifida, HIV/Aids, and Foetal Alcohol Syndrome.
Millions of children are dying from preventable causes, violence, neglect, disease, and poverty. These innocent children are caught in realities that they did not create.
Families often abandon children living with special needs due to a lack of understanding and available resources for care, leaving these vulnerable children at risk.
Protect the Vulnerable
Sustain an environment that ensures and promotes the wellbeing of each child in a safe and secure setting where they can live, work, and develop their potential.
Improve Quality of Life
Ensure that all children in our care can experience a stable relationship with a caregiver based on love, respect, and security within a stable community.
Survive and Thrive
Unlock the potential of the youth who live and learn at Nazareth House, enabling every child in our care to live fulfilling and productive lives.
Nazareth House is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO 038-257) and a recognised Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930 002 374).
Our childcare facilities at Nazareth House Cape Town and Nazareth House Johannesburg weigh heavily on our available resources. The gap between the funding we receive and the funding our children need is a constant struggle and grows daily.
Nazareth House is committed to providing love, nurturing, care and protection for orphans, disabled children, and other vulnerable children from birth to 18 years. These children have very special needs and no other source of care and support. Nazareth House is their home and their family.
Cash donations without specific allocations attached are always appreciated as we can then allocate these to our most urgent needs as required. However, we understand that individuals and corporate sponsors are often motivated to fund a specific cause based on their own personal experiences or values. We value every donation, regardless of size and allocation.
All donations contribute toward the caring and compassionate haven we have established for our society’s most vulnerable members, our children.
We thank you from the bottom of the children’s hearts and on behalf of a brighter future for them in South Africa.
